About The Role
This role focuses on supporting individuals and families at risk of homelessness to secure safe, long-term housing. Build resilience, connect clients with community resources and provide culturally sensitive service, including for people from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities
New Horizons are seeking a passionate Full-time SST Case Worker (within our Supporting and Securing Tenancies program) to join our Coffs Harbour team.
In this role you will be oversee and be responsible for;
* Managing a case load and support our customers with securing and sustaining tenancies.
* Provide information, advice and advocacy to customers utilising a person-centered approach
* Develop and review case plan to reflect customer's need and preference
* Partnering with local services to deliver the program
* Partnering with community corrections to identify suitable participants for sustainable tenancy support programs and assist tenants in successfully achieving broader non-housing related outcomes.
* Increased linkages, referrals and access to services—including mental health, drug and alcohol, financial counselling and community support services
* Enhanced psychological wellbeing and mental health; for example, self-esteem, happiness, self-confidence, and a sense of security, safety and control
* Passion to assist vulnerable people to be housed is required
* Must have the capacity to lift 10 Kilograms unassisted, in order to support customer needs
What You Will Bring To The Role
* Relevant Qualifications in Disability, Mental Health, Social Welfare and/or similar
* Strong stakeholder communication skills
* Capacity to lift 10 Kilograms unassisted, in order to support customer needs
* Valid Australian Driver's License
* Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check, WWCC, and an NDIS Worker Screening check
