Australian Ocean Biotechnology has been in the Aquaculture Industry since 1999. We are now seeking Aquaculture Technicians to help our Facility increase Abalone productivity and diversification into other species including Flounder and Calamari

You pride yourself on personal Ownership, Accountability, and productivity. A Safety mindset knowing everyone is responsible for safety in the workplace. Calm in nature, even in challenging situations, working to solutions with the team. A helpful, courteous manner with a focus on supporting each other in the team and company objectives.

You are excellent at accurately following instructions and retain task-specific knowledge. Attention to detail and excellent observational skills. Experience in Aquaculture or Farming would be ideal, but not mandatory. Continuous Improvement mindset and previous training beneficial.

The position is almost all hands-on. Willingness to work weekends and extended hours during the spring and summer season (offset by reduced hours during the off-season). You will need to be on call, but callouts are very rare. Possession of a valid driver's license. Qualifications in Aquaculture, Marine Science, or a related discipline are highly favorable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

A Continuous Improvement mindset and culture will be part of the role. Lean Training can be provided, helping the Business, the team, and yourself improve every day.

* Assisting with stock movement, grading, and sorting abalone, some new species work as required.
* Upholding Safe and high standards for General Husbandry including Feeding, cleaning stock movement, and team work.
* Assist with maintenance tasks as required.
* Helping ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
