BlueFit is a national leader in leisure facility management, and we own Southern Education, a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 41402) that's all about excellence in sports and aquatics.
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Vocational (VET) Trainer and Assessor to join our team in Victoria - someone who can deliver top-notch, engaging, and compliant training that truly makes a splash!
Please note: This is an educational training and assessment role within an RTO framework.
Your Mission
* Active Training & Delivery: Deliver engaging, compliant, and effective training sessions (face-to-face, online, or blended) aligned with the Training Package and RTO policies.
* Course Content: Deliver specialist accredited training in the sports and aquatics industry, including Certificate III in Sport & Recreation, individual units in First Aid and CPR, and industry-specific skill sets in Swim Teaching, Pool Lifeguard, and Pool Operations.
* Compliance & Assessments: Conduct valid, fair, and reliable assessments that align with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence under the Standards for RTOs (2025). Participate regularly in assessment validation, audits, and continuous professional development.
* Learner Support: Provide academic and mentoring support, monitor progress, and ensure reasonable adjustments are applied appropriately.
* Scheduling & Travel: Deliver courses across multiple BlueFit sites throughout the Melbourne suburbs (based out of our Site Support office in Essendon). This includes availability for scheduled evening and weekend courses to meet industry training demands.
* Company Standards: Uphold BlueFit's high standards for Work Health and Safety and the Safeguarding of Children and Young People.
What You'll Bring
* VET Qualifications: A current TAE40116 / TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher) is highly regarded/essential for this role.
* Vocational Competency: Proven vocational competencies and certifications at least to the level being delivered and assessed (e.g., current Pool Lifeguard, Swim Teacher, and First Aid/CPR credentials).
* Physical Capability: The confidence and physical fitness to actively demonstrate skills such as deep-water rescues, spinal mobilisations, and swimming techniques in the pool alongside your students.
* Compliance Smarts: Strong knowledge of compliance obligations under the Standards for RTOs (2025).
* Required Qualifications (Must be kept current): CPR, First Aid, Driver's licence, and a Working with Children Check relevant for the Australian State or Territory in which you are working.
* People Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Locations
This full-time role is based at our Site Support office in Essendon with an expectation that you will deliver courses across our Victorian-based sites, primarily in the suburbs of Melbourne.
