As a Food Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals and refreshments to residents. This position is part of our commitment to providing exceptional care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up each servery and dining area for meal periods, ensuring they meet our standards.
* Prepare trolleys for tea breaks and supper.
* Clean and maintain dishes and areas where food is prepared and served, adhering to our Food Safety Program.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of areas where food is prepared and served.
* Assist with meal preparation as required.
* Monitor and record the requirements of our Food Safety Plan, including temperatures, cleaning schedules, and receipt of goods.
Qualifications & Skills:
* A previous experience in providing catering assistance or hospitality in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Food Standards and Food Safety.
* Good communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and accurately, and communicate effectively.
* Ability to work as a team member, prioritise tasks, and adapt to various ways of supporting residents.
* Digital literacy.
To work in residential aged care, you will need to provide satisfactory background checks, including an NDIS or police check (role dependent), current year flu vaccination, and certification proof.
