Our Role
We are currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Maintenance Fitter at our Galong Limestone Mine and Processing Plant. The operation is located a short drive from the larger regional centers of Yass, Young and Harden. Reporting to the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will have a high degree of autonomy and carry out varied work under our preventative maintenance program. This position will require you to:
* Complete scheduled mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
* Replace, fabricate and machine components on plant and equipment in line with planned maintenance schedule or to rectify faults or recover from breakdown.
* Recommend and undertake improvement projects on plant and machinery.
* Complete condition monitoring and inspections of fixed plant and mobile equipment.
To be the successful candidate, you need to will have:
* A trade qualification as a Boilermaker or Mechanical Fitter with preventative maintenance and fault finding experience in a mining or heavy industrial industry.
* Experience with repairing crushing, screening, milling, kiln and hydrator equipment would be highly regarded.
* A current manual driver's license is required; Front End Loader and Excavator licences and Heavy Rigid Truck licence are preferred.
* Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP, Dogman, First Aid and Low Voltage Rescue competence all highly regarded.
The successful candidate will have a good foundation understanding of preventative maintenance concepts, condition monitoring and maintenance, and possess a positive attitude towards safety with an ability to demonstrate leadership in this area. You will also have a commitment to Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements and legislation, and will be successful at working as part of a team.
