ASeTTS is a well-known not for profit provider of mental health and support services to torture and trauma survivors in WA. Working with a clear vision of supporting human rights and providing holistic services to clients who have experienced trauma. With an established clinical team, they support clients across the lifespan in residential and community-based settings.

**Your new role**

As an ASeTTS Counsellor you will join an established team of clinicians who deliver specialised torture and trauma counselling services to clients across the lifespan. You will be responsible for your own clinical caseload providing counselling and advocacy services within a therapeutic case management framework.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conduct effective intake and triage of new clients (as required to support overflow)
- Provide comprehensive psychological assessments to identify needs of the clients
- Recommend appropriate strength-based treatments
- Deliver counselling and advocacy services to individuals, families and groups
- Support clients through assessment and goal setting
- Contribute and run therapeutic groups as required
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with relevant services
- Maintain client notes, reporting and documentation to a high standard
- Contribute to community education and training on the effect of torture and trauma

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to succeed in this role you will be an experienced clinician with proven trauma informed counselling experience.

Key requirements include:

- Tertiary qualification in psychology, social work or counselling with current registration with the relevant body (e.g., PACFA, ACA, AHPRA or AASW)
- Proven experience delivering counselling services within a trauma context
- Working knowledge of trauma informed practice and recovery principles
- Previous experience working in community-based service provision
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated experience supporting CaLD clients
- Current WA driver's licence
- WA police clearance
- WWCC
- Highly desirable:

- Ability to speak a second language
- Previous employment in a torture and trauma rehabilitation service

**What you'll get in return**

This is a full-time position with an excellent salary package on offer at a SCHADS level 5.

Other benefits include:

- Option for Salary packaging for up to $15,900 per annum.
- Option for an Entertainment Card (over and above salary packaging) up to $2,600.
- Five weeks of annual leave.
