The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Technical Product Specialist (Animal Health) to join our team within our head office in Wagga Wagga.
The Technical Product Specialist is responsible for coordinating the development, launch and establishment of new Vetafarm products in the market. In this role, the Technical Product Specialist will oversee and coordinate all facets of a new product's development, release to market, and ongoing performance up to the point that product is considered established.
Product specialisations may include canine, feline, avian, reptile, small animal, aquaria, registrations and probiotics. Please indicate your areas of interest as part of your application.
This is a full-time role and may require occasional travel both nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Research - Maintain an active understanding of new technology/health insights, target demographic, packaging and delivery systems and relay information to the product development and marketing teams.
Technical Research - Conduct technical product research from new product concept, through to assisting in the selection of best practice active ingredients and excipients.
Development and Trials - Conduct product trials alongside Technical Product Lead for observation and training purposes.
Training and Education - Utilise sound technical and market understanding to conduct training programs, either in person or remotely to both internal and external stakeholders.
Category and Brand Management - Develop a deep understanding of your product portfolio (new and existing products), along with those of industry leading competitors, and ensure your category and the brand are represented in the market at the highest possible standard.
About You:
* Bachelor of Animal Science (or equivalent) or a background in animal health (e.g. vet nursing, pet retail etc).
* Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive yet flexible approach to managing the day-to-day requirements of the role.
* A real keenness to learn, improve and challenge the status quo to develop innovative solutions.
