About the opportunity:
The Construction Manager is part of the Weeks Homes Construction team and reports to the State Building Manager. The key focus of this role will be to oversee all residential construction projects, managing Area Managers and Construction Supervisors to ensure a consistent build process and quality product. More specifically, you will:
* Lead, mentor and support a team of Area and Site Managers, ensuring they meet performance targets and deliver high quality outcomes across their regions.
* Oversee the end to end construction workflow, ensuring KPIs, building codes, and contract requirements are consistently met.
* Partner with the State Building Manager to execute construction strategies, achieve budgets, and implement process improvements across the department.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, trades, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
* Drive continuous improvement by reviewing construction issues, defects, systems performance, scheduling practices, and product suitability, implementing necessary changes.
* Support workforce planning through recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management for Site Managers, while fostering a culture of safety, quality and accountability.
About you:
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will have:
* Demonstrated success in a senior construction management role, with project management capability.
* Proven leadership experience, guiding teams within residential construction.
* Strong working knowledge of building regulations to ensure all homes are delivered to the highest standards of compliance and quality.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to problem solve and resolve conflict effectively.
* Hold a relevant building trade certificate and ideally bring tertiary qualifications in Building and Construction.
* Full drivers license
