About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Probuild NQ in Townsville, Queensland. This is a full-time position, and you will play a crucial role in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties.
What you'll be doing
- Study and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and appropriate installation procedures. Analyse project plans to identify necessary steps, methods, and timeframes needed to complete tasks efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with industry standards.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration of work
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, following all safety protocols
- Provide support and guidance to junior carpenters or apprentices, as needed
What we're looking for
- Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant trade certification in Carpentry
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Carpenter, with a solid understanding of construction techniques and building codes
- Have a range of experience across general domestic and commercial Carpentry including extensions, renovations, new builds.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to address on-site challenges
- Commitment to safety and a track record of working safely on construction sites
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Own standard carpentry tools including hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
- Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220 or equivalent) - essential
- Current White Card (CPCCWHS1001) - essential
- Right to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to job sites
