Business Development Manager - Architectural and Commercial
From skivvies to work boots and confident in both worlds.
Some people feel at home in an architect's studio, black skivvy, design boards, big ideas. Others thrive on job sites, boots on, straight talk, and getting things done.
You're one of the rare operators who can do both.
You speak "design intent" and "delivery reality" without missing a beat.
Architects get you. Builders trust you.
And that's exactly why this role exists.
This isn't a stock-standard BDM job, it's your chance to own a sector, shape the strategy and run the Architectural and Commercial division like it's your own business.
??What You'll Be Doing
Own the Strategy & Build the Market
Lead the Commercial & Architectural segment, full ownership of the plan, approach and execution.
Work with Marketing to build CPDs, content, case studies and campaigns that stand out with design studios.
Map the market, identify opportunities and create the long-term growth plan.
Early Engagement With Architects (Long Game)
Sit with architects early to influence materials, compliance, sustainability and design decisions.
Deliver CPDs and design sessions that feel collaborative, not scripted.
Build a strong specification pipeline (6–18 months) that positions us ahead of tender.
Fast Wins With Builders (Short Game)
Deliver immediate value to builders looking for solutions now.
Convert specifications into real orders through strong technical support and commercial thinking.
Introduce builders to the wider Narangba Timbers offering, turning project wins into long-term trade customers.
Be the Connector
Move seamlessly between design studios and job sites.
Build genuine relationships with architects, designers, builders and developers.
Be the trusted advisor for timber performance, installation, compliance and practical solutions.
Take full ownership of pipeline, forecasting and commercial decisions.
Feed insights back into product development, procurement and marketing.
Drive results with confidence, structure and an entrepreneurial mindset.
??What You'll Bring
Experience engaging architects, designers, builders or developers, ideally across multiple groups.
Ability to translate between design language and construction language.
Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, pricing strategy, tenders and margin discipline.
Relationship-first style; credible, reliable, memorable.
Self-driven, organised, comfortable with autonomy.
Interest in timber, design or building materials is ideal but communication skill matters most.
?? Why This Role Is Different
Build a sector from the ground up, not inherit someone else's patch.
Balance long-term architectural influence with short-term builder wins.
Autonomy, support and backing of a growing business.
Make a visible, lasting impact on the future of our commercial and architectural division.
??Why You'll Love It Here
Friday team breakfasts cooked fresh on site.
Recognition & reward programs.
Great team member discounts.
A supportive, values-driven team.
Real career growth as the commercial division expands.
?Ready to Join The Team?
If you're equally confident in skivvies (short sleeve in summer) and work boots, this is your role.
Own the sector. Build the strategy. Shape the future of timber in commercial and architectural projects across Queensland.
