Employment Type: Visiting Medical Officer. Position Classification: Visiting Medical Officer (Remuneration: NSW Health). Hours per week: 8. Requisition ID: REQ648338. Position Title: Visiting Medical Officer, Primary Care. Location: St Helliers, outskirts of Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley.
Responsibilities
* Provide general medical services to patients within the correctional environment in Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network facilities.
* Collaborate with Nursing Unit Manager, Service Director Primary Care and Clinical Director Primary Care to enhance services in line with organisational needs and best practice.
* Deliver general medical care, assessment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions applicable to a correctional setting.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team activities and contribute to patient‐centred care across community, inpatient and custodial settings.
Qualifications
* Current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Proof of recognition as a specialist by the Specialist Recognition Advisory Committee.
* Significant experience in General Practice, with knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches to acute and chronic conditions.
* Previous experience in emergency medicine, general practice, adult internal medicine, or rural medicine is an advantage.
