**About Us**
Our Support Services team provides a range of essential non-clinical services that help our hospitals run. We provide food services, central production kitchen, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The General Services Department at Monash Medical Centre requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant who is committed to working night shifts to work as part of our dynamic and passionate team in the Emergency Department.
**Patient Services Assistant - Emergency Department** _(Permanent night shift)_
Sunday to Wednesday 22.15 - 06.45
- (64 hours per fortnight)_
**About the Role**
- Ward and department cleaning
- Patient transfers
- Bed making
- Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of equipment
- Patient errands
**About You**
To ensure your success in this role you will have a strong commitment to working night shift and working effectively as part of a team and bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant - Emergency Department (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
- Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures
- Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
