The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Product Manager – Salesforce CRM to provide a critical role at Emergency Management Victoria.
About The Business Unit
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV), within the Department of Justice and Community Safety, is responsible for the overall coordination of the emergency management system in Victoria. EMV drives the integration of policy, strategy, operational coordination, and planning across Victoria's emergency management sector, contributing to safer, more resilient communities.
About The Role
The Product Manager – Salesforce CRM is a member of the Recovery Programs Coordination and Delivery Branch within EMV, leading the strategy and iterative delivery of the Salesforce Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) product. The role reports directly to the Deputy Director, Recovery Program Coordination and Delivery.
Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining the strategic product roadmap, managing a business analyst, engaging stakeholders, and working cross‐functionally to translate operational needs into prioritised, value‐driven outcomes.
Some of Your Duties Will Include
* Define and maintain the Salesforce CRM product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and evolving needs.
* Proactively engage with business function leads to understand operational needs, surface pain points and identify opportunities to enhance the CRM platform's value to users, serving as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the technical delivery team.
* Translate stakeholder insights and strategic objectives into well‐defined user stories and acceptance criteria, maintaining a prioritised product backlog that maximises value delivery within available capacity.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
* Product management experience, ideally with Salesforce CRM or SaaS platforms, including ownership of a product roadmap, backlog and agile delivery cycles.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs from multiple stakeholder groups into clear, prioritised product requirements and user stories.
* Working knowledge of CRM platforms and data management practices, including familiarity with Salesforce, data governance principles and security and compliance considerations in an enterprise environment, alongside proficiency with agile delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence or equivalent.
Qualifications
* Project management or product delivery certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent; demonstrated experience managing end‐to‐end product delivery may be considered in lieu of formal certification.
* Salesforce Administrator certification is highly desirable, with additional Salesforce credentials such as Salesforce Business Analyst or Salesforce Service Cloud Functional Consultant considered a significant advantage.
* Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field would be highly regarded.
* Appropriate vocational qualifications and certifications in areas such as Agile delivery, product management, change management or stakeholder engagement are highly desirable.
