Based in Adelaide's southern metropolitan region, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff across our healthcare facility. This position requires someone who can respond effectively to emergency situations while maintaining the highest standards of fire safety compliance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director, this role is responsible for general operations of disaster resilience through the effective coordination, consultation and management of fire safety, emergency response and security.
Duties
* Ensuring that service provision and the activities of the unit are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
* Ensuring the effective management of human, financial and physical assets through appropriate planning and allocation of resources to achieve agreed unit and strategic plans.
* Oversee and coordinate the operational delivery of security, fire life safety and emergency response for the site, monitoring its effectiveness, ensuring compliance with performance outcomes.
* Recommending and developing strategies to minimise or eliminate potential risks in relation to fire safety, security and emergency response.
* Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of security, emergency response and fire life safety activities, recommending and implementing strategies for improvement.
* Assisting with development on major procedural matters, providing consultation advice.
* Developing and conducting a wide range of standardised education programs and training packages for all staff, contractors, students and volunteers relating to fire life safety and emergency response management, including provision of orientation sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
* TAE ***** Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or evidence of commencing Certificate IV in Training and Assessment within the first 12 months of employment.
* Diploma or higher education qualification relevant to Education and Training and Fire Life Safety.
* Diploma or Certification IV in Leadership and Management.
* Extensive experience in managing complex and critical health disaster resilience strategies to meet organisational performance outcomes in a complex dynamic environment with competing needs and priorities.
* Proven well developed ability to direct and lead teams under pressure, including participation and leadership in incident response.
* Willingness and ability to evolve and adapt to change and upheaval.
* Demonstrated high level ability to work effectively to develop, implement, monitor and review policies and procedures.
* Awareness of National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
