Cook Shire Council is seeking a dedicated Parks and Gardens Labourer to join our vital and enthusiastic team maintaining and improving the region's open spaces and recreational facilities.
As a Parks and Gardens Labourer, you will be an essential part of the team responsible for maintaining parks, gardens, reserves, and public amenities across Cook Shire. You'll work in a supportive environment where safety, teamwork, and pride in your work are valued every day.

What you'll be doing
No two days are the same You'll be:
* Undertaking general grounds maintenance including moving, bush cutting, weeding, pruning and planting.
* Maintaining playgrounds, sport fields, and other public spaces.
* Operating small plant and equipment such as tractors, mowers, blowers, chainsaws and whipper snippers.
* Assisting with streetscape maintenance, minor landscaping and development tasks.
* Performing inspections and reporting any hazards or maintenance issues.
* Supporting a team that appreciates initiative, clear communication and a can-do attitude.
What we're looking for
* Previous experience in parks and gardens maintenance or related outdoor work.
* Ability to safely and competently operate relevant machinery and tools.
* A strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and in a team.
* A strong safety awareness.
* Physically fit and able to work in varying outdoor conditions.
* A current MR Class Driver's Licence (Mandatory).
* Construction White Card. (Mandatory).
* Chainsaw or Horticultural qualifications (Highly regarded).
