Senior Ecologist
As a Senior Ecologist, join a Brisbane-based team that's genuinely on the rise. The team started as a small, technically sharp group and has attracted serious talent over the past year, increasing capability and energy.
This role is ideal for a local Queensland ecologist who understands the local ecological landscape and enjoys the technical challenge of delivering high‑quality work beyond compliance.
The Role
You'll deliver ecological impact assessments, surveys and reporting across a range of projects: renewable energy, infrastructure developments, natural resource management and rehabilitation. You will also mentor emerging consultants, contribute to proposals and provide quality technical oversight.
Technical Responsibilities
* Undertake flora and fauna surveys, vegetation mapping and ecological assessments
* Prepare technical reports and approval documentation (EPBC, State offsets etc.)
* Support project delivery across renewables, infrastructure and resources
* Work closely with planners, environmental scientists and engineers on multi‑disciplinary projects
* Provide mentoring and guidance to juniors as the team continues to grow
Ideal Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science or related field
* 6–10 years' experience in QLD‑based terrestrial ecology
* Strong technical writing and reporting skills
* Solid understanding of local environmental approvals and offset frameworks
