This Federal Government Agency is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
**Your new role**
The EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation will support the delivery of an internal service that conducts research and evaluation using a range of methods to inform Agency decisions.
The EL1 Assistant Director Research and Evaluation will manage the implementation and effectiveness evaluation of a pre-emptive pilot program for infants showing early behavioural signs of autism in Western Australia (the Inklings Pilot). It will provide detailed technical, professional, policy and operational management of the program. The Assistant Director will also be required to coordinate and assist in other strategic planning, program, project management and policy development to support the agency's objectives to "build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme".
- Working with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation.
- Collecting and analysing a range of quantitative, qualitative and survey data, including coordinating other members of the Research and Evaluation Branch on such activities.
- Ensuring the evaluation is conducted in accordance with appropriate guidelines, standard operating procedures, standards and ethics requirements, and maintaining project related records.
- Preparing and presenting reports and slide-pack summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Working collaboratively with other teams in the Research and Evaluation Branch, as required.
- Designing and conducting other research projects, including working with people with various types of disabilities and from various cultural backgrounds.
- Communicate and support the implementation of research findings.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in using a range of sophisticated methods including quantitative and qualitative methods and embedding the participant at the heart of the work.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external and internal stakeholders to scope, deliver and govern the evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience delivering end to end formative and impact evaluations which have informed change.
- Either an academic or evaluation qualifications.
- Experience designing evaluations and producing evaluation logics that reflect the stakeholders/Agency's needs.
