Senior Accountant Opportunity
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial accounting and management accounting, with experience working with big four firms.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Financial Control team with technical accounting and practical management reporting during month-end analysis of results. This includes ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounts, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying areas for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Month-End Processes: Assist with overseeing and coordinating month-end processes to meet strict deadlines, prepare and review month-end journals, and complete analytical reviews of month-end results.
* Financial Analysis and Reporting: Work with the FP&A team to investigate and understand variances, assist with the preparation and coordination of monthly reporting packs, and ensure the integrity and validation of the general ledger.
* Reconciliations and Support: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, provide accounting support for stakeholders across the business, and seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes to deliver efficient and streamlined services.
* Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor junior staff and assist with corporate accounting tasks including balance sheet analytics, cash flow, and working capital analysis.
* Ad Hoc Projects: Assist the Finance Manager with various ad hoc projects, ensuring all changes to processes and procedures are documented.
Requirements:
* Qualifications and Experience: CA/CPA qualified with over 5 years of experience in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting. Experience with one of the big four would be highly regarded.
* Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in engaging senior stakeholders.
* Technical Proficiency: Solid technical skills, coupled with a drive and initiative to excel in the role.
* Positive Attitude: A positive, can-do attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and the confidence to express constructive recommendations.
* Process Improvement: An eye towards process improvement, ensuring efficient and streamlined financial accounting processes.
