Marketing Manager – Business Development & Proposals Our client is a well-established national professional services firm with a strong reputation for quality work and long-standing client relationships. The firm is known for being collaborative, down-to-earth and commercially focused, with partners who value good ideas, clear thinking and practical support. They’re continuing to invest in their marketing and business development capability to support growth across key practice areas. The Role This is a hands-on Marketing Manager role with a strong business development and proposals focus. Based in Melbourne, you’ll work closely with partners and senior stakeholders across the firm to support client pursuits, manage tenders and proposals, and help lift the firm’s market profile. You’ll have real ownership — from shaping pitch content and capability statements through to coordinating submissions and supporting BD activity across practice groups. This role suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail, is comfortable working directly with senior people, and understands how marketing supports revenue and client growth in a professional services environment. What you’ll be responsible for: Business development support Supporting partners and practice groups with BD planning and client pursuits Providing practical marketing and pitch support across multiple teams at once Helping bring structure and consistency to BD activity across the firm Brand, profile & communications Ensuring marketing and BD materials are on-brand and consistent Coordinating industry and directory submissions (e.g. Chambers, Legal 500, Doyles, AFR surveys) Supporting thought leadership and client communications Proposals & tenders Managing proposals, tenders and submissions end to end, including RFPs and capability responses Working directly with partners to shape clear, tailored submissions that respond to client needs Maintaining proposal content, credentials and case studies so the firm is always ready to respond Digital, content & collateral Overseeing website updates and content accuracy Managing the design and production of pitch documents and marketing collateral Supporting social media content and basic performance reporting Events & sponsorships Coordinating client and industry events from planning through to delivery Supporting sponsorships that build relationships and raise the firm’s profile To be a top candidate you’ll likely have: Experience in marketing, business development, proposals or tenders, ideally in professional services Hands-on involvement in RFPs, proposals or pitch documents Strong stakeholder skills and confidence working with senior leaders Clear, concise writing skills and strong attention to detail A commercial mindset and a practical approach to getting things done The ability to juggle multiple deadlines without dropping the ball Familiarity with CRM systems and tools like InDesign, Photoshop or similar What’s on offer A visible, trusted role working closely with partners and senior leaders Real ownership and influence across BD and marketing activity A collaborative, supportive team environment Competitive salary and benefits
