Irrigation Maintenance & Landscaping Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual to fulfil a critical role in creating a new 5‑tiered hospitality venue at a 20‑acre property in Darwin. This is your chance to be part of designing, consulting for, and implementing a transformation that will produce a beautiful, high‑end landscape for five event locations under one title.
As a family‑run business with 50 employees, you will be key to delivering an event venue that goes live in 2027. Success requires goal‑driven, time‑managed, and character‑focused work, and the ability to take ownership of the administration side as well as hands‑on maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Irrigation design, installation and maintenance of the existing 63 mm and 25 mm pipe network, solenoid stations, and wireless‑controlled and timer‑controlled zones.
* Garden and landscape project management, including planting trees, shrubs, and propagating new plants in the on‑site nursery.
* General maintenance of the 20‑acre estate and additional garden maintenance on four commercial properties.
* Oversee lawn mowing, edging, whipper‑snipping, and general grounds upkeep.
* Maintenance of the 3‑phase bore.
* Programming, repair, and ongoing maintenance of the irrigation system.
* Spraying for white ants and other pests, mulching, pruning, hedging, and weeding.
* Repair and maintenance of fencing around the property.
* Ensure the property remains tidy, safe, and welcoming.
Qualifications
* Experience in landscaping, gardening and horticulture with a background in grounds maintenance.
* Knowledge of construction industry practices and ability to coordinate with other contractors.
* Commercial landscape irrigation experience (not just residential).
* Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Reliable, punctual, hardworking, and self‑motivated with a strong work ethic.
* Full driver's licence (essential).
* Safety or trade tickets (e.g., White Card) highly regarded.
Why Join the Team?
This isn't just another maintenance job — it's a chance to shape a large event venue from the ground up. You will help establish gardens, irrigation, and landscaping features during the development phase before moving into ongoing maintenance. If you're ready to roll up your sleeves and take pride in creating and maintaining beautiful grounds, we'd love to hear from you. You may be asked for references and a portfolio that showcases your work.
