Lives Lived Well offer a variety of community and residential Alcohol and Other Drug programs throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia, helping thousands of people every year to navigate AOD related challenges and move forward in life.
The Service
Located in the beautiful coastal regional city of Coffs Harbour surrounded by a host of stunning beaches and tranquil rainforests, this youth residential alcohol and other drug service provides therapeutic rehabilitation and withdrawal support to young people aged 13 – 18 years.
This youth residential rehab provides 5 beds including 1 withdrawal bed, including 1 withdrawal bed providing a safe environment to withdraw from alcohol and/or other drugs. The 12-week program is structured to include therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, case management, cultural connection activities, life skills and aftercare support.
Your opportunity
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Clinician for our Program where you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive, evidence-based group and individual interventions. In this leadership role, you will report to the Manager of the site and provide clinical support to a multidisciplinary team, work closely with our external stakeholders and provide therapeutic care to clients.
This is a full-time, permanent role based on-site in Coffs Harbour. The position pays $110,000 - $115,000 plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging up to $15,900 per year.
Other responsibilities of the role will include:
* Provide leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating a range of general and specialist group and individual interventions reflecting the needs of young people presenting at the service.
* Provide leadership in the promotion of group program activities across the service and within the wider community, including maintenance of group program procedures such as referrals, assessments, reviews, and feedback.
* Ensure that the clinical processes are effectively managed, including the allocation of young people, reviews, discharges, and team meetings.
* Engage and support young people to participate in the group program across a variety of clinical and community settings.
* Consultation and liaison with a range of community services, including educational, vocational, welfare and health services, to assist young people access a full range of tailored interventions that promote recovery for the young person and significant others.
* Contribute to the youth friendly and responsive attitude of Lives Lived Well by demonstrating an optimistic and recovery focused approach along with integrity and reliability in a day-to-day work.
* Commit to and participate in necessary professional development relevant to the role.
* Commit to and participate in regular supervision, commit to the continued development of clinical skills and evidence based best practice.
* Demonstrate understanding of the needs of people from diverse backgrounds including Culturally and Linguistically Diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and LGBTIQ+, communities.
What you'll bring
* Tertiary qualifications in either psychology, social work, behavioural sciences, social sciences, public health, health promotion, community development or equivalent.
* Foundational knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Health Act including proposed reforms and the Children, Youth and Families Act and any other relevant legislation.
* Foundational knowledge of the developmental stages of young people and the impact that has on the individual and significant others.
* Experience working with individuals with AOD and mental health issues (including trauma).
* Experience and understanding of working within a harm minimisation approach.
* Ability to use relevant information technology and electronic client recording systems and data management tools.
* Ability and experience in the application of group and individual interventions with an understanding of risk management.
* A high level of interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with team members, other professionals, and outside agencies.
* Ability to travel Intrastate and interstate travel as required for the role.
You will need to hold a current Australian Drivers Licence, and either hold, be working towards, or willing to obtain a Working with Children Check. You will also need to be willing to obtain your First Aid, CPR Certificate and complete a National Criminal History Check.
