Genomic Expertise
This role plays a pivotal part in shaping Bupa's genomic offerings. You will develop innovative solutions for personalized care and set new standards in the field.
You will work closely with product managers, service designers, and clinical experts to ensure that genomic testing is delivered safely and accessibly. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing expert guidance on designing and evaluating genomics programs.
* Translating complex genomic evidence into clear insights.
* Reviewing report content and consent materials for clarity and accuracy.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert.
The Genomic Expert will report into the Product Lead Genomics. This non-patient-facing role requires specialist expertise in product development, evidence appraisal, safety, and governance processes.
Requirements
* Postgraduate qualification in Genetic Counselling or a related field.
* Fellowship of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia with current board certification.
* Significant experience in clinical or laboratory-based genetic counselling.
* Proven ability to translate complex genomic evidence.
* Expert understanding of ethical considerations in genomic testing.
* Experience contributing to frameworks, policies, or training materials.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in consumer genomics or population genomics.
* Familiarity with digital health platforms or variant interpretation frameworks.
* Understanding of Australian health system regulation.
