About the Role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader Ranger to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural workplace, flora, fauna and aboriginal heritage.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about conservation, land management and working collaboratively. You will work closely with the Area Manager and Team Leader Field Operations and be integral in managing day-to-day operational works to ensure the delivery of priority projects and programs. Through leadership and the fostering of a professional culture you will assist your team in delivering work to a high standard.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of Rangers and liaise regularly with field staff and other teams. You will also build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and identify opportunities and partnerships to increase community participation and engagement. Your project planning skills will be key in juggling and meeting competing priorities, while your ability to motivate and influence your team will be the key to achieving outcomes in a busy and changing environment.

Current Australian Class C Drivers licence or equivalent.

This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit, enjoy working outdoors as part of a team, and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSW's most precious natural places.

Applicants must meet the requirements of a firefighting medical which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake frontline firefighting roles. The applicant must pass the task based fitness assessment to a moderate level within the probationary period (up to 12 months) and annually thereafter.

The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting / incident control duties.
