Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities, programs, training and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances. 
Position 
Carer Coach (Part-time) 
This part-time position offers 3 days per week and will be located out of either Newcastle or Central Coast Office, with requirement to work at the alternative office location as required. Coaching sessions are conducted face-to-face, online or via telephone in accordance with the Carer Gateway Service Provider (CGSP) Coaching Service guidelines. This role is funded until 30 June 2026, with potential contract extension beyond this date. 
Responsibilities 
- Organise and facilitate one-to-one, time-limited coaching that is carer-led and directed. 
- Deliver coaching in line with CGSP Coaching Service guidelines. 
Qualifications and Skills 
- Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, health or other relevant discipline and/or demonstrated work experience relevant to the role. 
- Experience empowering carers to understand their needs/goals and to make decisions and actions independently. 
- Awareness and empathy to work with carers; ability to provide active listening without judgement in a one-to-one setting. 
- High emotional maturity and resilience; understanding of trauma-informed practices. 
- Ability to set boundaries and seek support when needed; strong communication and organisational skills; highly developed computer literacy. 
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and optimistic outlook towards carers; strong understanding of Mandatory reporting and privacy requirements. 
- Current NSW driver’s licence and capacity to travel and work across NSW service area (Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter region).

Salary and Benefits 
The salary is around $102K + super, pro rata for part-time. Additional benefits include salary sacrificing, flexible work arrangements, a highly supportive team environment, and opportunities for training and development, health and wellness programs.
