Program Overview
We offer a 12-month graduate program in finance, designed to equip you with skills and knowledge through tailored learning and development, as well as on-the-job coaching.
You will be part of a supportive work environment where you can engage in meaningful work and develop public service and professional skills. Our inclusive work environment values diversity and offers opportunities for graduates from various disciplines to broaden their experience and develop new skills.
The program includes two 6-month work placements in different areas of the business, ensuring you are exposed to various roles and responsibilities.
Your Career Path
You will join our organization as an ongoing employee at the APS 3 level. Throughout the program, your knowledge will grow, your skills will develop, and your capabilities will increase. You will have opportunities to apply for advancement to higher classifications throughout your graduate year.
As a graduate, you will have the opportunity to participate in project management, undertake analysis and research assignments, and contribute to policy advice and program implementation. You will also be involved in administrative tasks such as preparing briefing material, submissions, reports, or ministerial correspondence.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide input and advice on financial impacts, risks, and merits of new policy proposals across government portfolios
* Contribute to the government's financial framework and managing its shareholding in assets
* Deliver tools and services to support parliamentarians and their staff
* Engage with Government Business Enterprises and modernize the public sector through better services to citizens and businesses
* Manage whole-of-government procurement and risk management
In this role, you will be expected to make an impact through your work, solutions, and unique skillset.
Please note that relocation to Canberra is required for this position.
