DWF is seeking a motivated Graduate or Junior Lawyer to join our General Insurance team in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills across a broad mix of insurance matters while working alongside highly experienced lawyers in a supportive, people‑focused environment.
You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of general insurance matters. You'll work closely with senior lawyers and benefit from ongoing training, mentorship and exposure to quality client work.
This role is ideal for someone at the start of their legal career who is keen to build capability in insurance litigation and advisory work. You'll work closely with senior lawyers across a broad range of general insurance matters and have genuine opportunities to develop and progress.
What You'll Be Doing
* Assisting with both litigated and unlitigated insurance matters
* Drafting legal correspondence, court documents, and research
* Liaising with clients, insurers, experts, counsel and other stakeholders
* Supporting senior team members with case preparation and file management
* Contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team environment
What We're Looking For
* Graduate or recently admitted lawyer (0–2 PQE) with an interest in insurance law
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced practice
* A proactive, curious mindset and eagerness to learn
* Strong attention to detail and professional presentation
