About the role
We are seeking an Extended Care Assistant to be responsible for assisting the Extended Care Coordinator in the day-to-day operation, planning and administration of the Redlands House Preschool's extended care services and programs (including after-school and vacation care) in compliance with the National Quality Framework and School policies and procedures.
The Extended Care Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Extended Care Coordinator with the planning, designing and implementation of fun, educational and interesting programs with a diverse range of recreational and developmental, centre-based activities and excursions and incursions.
The role is responsible for fostering a rich play environment consistent with the Early Years Learning Framework and creating a warm, caring environment for all children attending the service. The Extended Care Assistant will be aware of children's needs and abilities and meet these in an appropriate manner. The role also involves liaising with families in regard to the day-to-day happenings within each program and also communicating effectively with parents about their child-care needs.
About you The successful applicant will ideally have:
* A Diploma in Children's Services (desirable), Certificate IV in Children's Services, or a Degree/Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching
* Experience in delivering play-based learning experiences
* Strong knowledge of early childhood pedagogy and programming
* The ability to plan and implement relevant learning programs
* The successful applicant must hold a First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis Certification.
* Experience working with children aged birth to 5 years and knowledge of the National Quality Framework are essential.
* The successful applicant will have or be willing to obtain a paid NSW Working With Children Check.Application instructions
