We are seeking a caring and motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our busy community pharmacy team at Bunbury Drive In Chemist, in Bunbury, WA. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a team environment, and is looking to build a long term career in the healthcare and pharmacy industry. As the pharmacy trades evenings and weekends, you must have flexibility to work evening or weekend shifts as part of the roster.
One of our available positions involves Webster packing/Dose Administration Services, so experience in this area - or previous pharmacy or healthcare experience - will be highly regarded but not essential.
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will support our qualified pharmacists and wider team in delivering outstanding care and service ensure the smooth running of our pharmacy, helping to maintain our reputation for professionalism. This role is essential in ensuring customers receive the support and guidance they need whilst maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice.
Key responsibilities
* Assisting customers with enquiries about over-the-counter medicines and health products, providing accurate information and recommendations
* Webster Packing and DAA support
* Operating the pharmacy till system and processing customer payments
* Maintaining a clean and hygienic pharmacy environment, adhering to health and safety standards
* Supporting the pharmacist with administrative tasks, including labelling, filing, and record-keeping
* Engaging with customers in a professional and empathetic manner, building trust and loyalty
* Contributing to the overall efficiency and organisation of the pharmacy team
What we're looking for
* A relevant pharmacy qualification or certification, such as a Pharmacy Assistant qualification or equivalent recognised qualification. ( highly regarded but not essential)
* A genuine passion for helping people by providing excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with customers and healthcare professionals
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working in a fast paced environment
* A positive team focused attitude, with a willingness to learn.
* Proficiency with computerised pharmacy systems and point-of-sale software
* Knowledge of over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and health products ( advantageous)
* Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues in a fast-paced environment
* A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to pharmacy regulations and professional standards
* Physical capability to lift and move stock items safely
* Reliability and a professional approach to punctuality and attendance
