About the role

The Environmental Systems team is an internal service which assists the organisation to comply with environmental legislation obligations by providing guidance and recommendations to a range of stakeholders. Using the Environmental Management Framework, you will provide guidance and recommendations using the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), audit and inspection programs, environmental assessment procedure/processes and incident management processes. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key responsibilities
* Providing practical environmental guidance and recommendations to a wide range of internal stakeholders
* Support and continuously improve an ISO 14001‐aligned Environmental Management System and framework
* Plan and deliver environmental audits, inspections, and follow‐ups to keep risks under control
* Contribute to environmental assessment processes, including impact assessments and management plans
* Investigate incidents and environmental issues, identify root causes, and produce clear reports and actions
* Apply current NSW environmental legislation and translate requirements into what teams need to do on the ground
Qualifications
* Degree in Environmental Studies (or related) or solid contemporary experience in a similar role, backed by ongoing professional development
* Current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Current Class C Driver Licence
* Experience working within and/or developing an ISO 14001‐certified Environmental Management System
* Proven capability in environmental investigations and writing clear, evidence‐based reports
* Experience in Environmental Impact Assessments and developing Environmental Management Plans
Salary & Working Conditions

The commencing salary for this position is up to $92.9K. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $107.7K on completion of assessment of skills and performance plus 12% superannuation + $207.31 per week Quarterly Vehicle Allowance as per Clause 18A(iii) of the Local Government State Award 2023 .

We have a temporary full‐time role available. This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight. We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role – 2 days from home and 3 days onsite. This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
