We're partnering with a leading Australian Asset Manager to find an experienced Fund Accountant for their Private Markets business. This is an initial 6-month contract with a genuine view to go permanent for the right candidate.
Our client is a well-regarded, independent firm with a strong presence in the Australian financial services market. Their Private Capital business has been growing steadily, and this role has been created to support that growth - bringing an experienced fund accounting professional in-house to work closely with the team.
This is a hands‐on role sitting within a lean, high-quality finance team. You'll be working across the firm's private markets strategies and playing a key role in the day-to-day fund accounting function.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, your responsibilities will include:
* Full fund accounting across private markets strategies, with a focus on Real Estate and/or Private Credit
* Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and reconciliations
* Investor reporting and capital account management
* Management of relationships with external fund administrators, reviewing their work and ensuring accuracy
* Supporting month‐end and year‐end close processes
* Assisting with audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
* Contributing to process improvement and operational efficiency as the business continues to grow
About You
* Experienced finance professional at the Manager level, with strong hands‐on fund accounting experience
* Background in private markets is essential - Real Estate, Private Credit, Infrastructure, or similar
* Prior experience working at or alongside a fund administration firm is highly regarded
* Strong technical accounting skills with a sharp eye for detail
* Comfortable working in a smaller, fast‐paced environment where no two days look the same
* Candidates on a Working Holiday Visa with relevant asset management or investment management experience are encouraged to apply
