The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking a People & Culture Advisor to join our Skilltech Metering team. In this role, you will provide trusted advice and coaching to operational leaders and employees on all Downer people processes and policies. You'll respond tactically to day-to‑day HR and employee relations issues, enabling the business to meet its strategic objectives.
This opportunity allows for WFH and flexible working options with offices based in Brisbane and Sydney. We are open to applications from candidates located in either of these locations.
What We're Looking For
* Deliver timely and tactical HR advice to managers and employees.
* Support HR strategy aligned with business goals.
* Assist with Employee & Industrial Relations (ER/IR) matters and ensure compliance with workplace legislation.
* Coordinate HR administration, reporting, and workforce metrics.
* Act as a positive change agent and successfully manage cultural change initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related Business Management (desirable).
* 2–5 years' experience in a similar role within communications, infrastructure, utilities, or construction.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Knowledge of Modern Awards, NES, and relevant workplace legislation.
* Experience with HR systems and reporting.
