About the Role
This exciting opportunity is for a skilled Lead Distribution Engineer to support our Major Projects Team in Perth. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery and technical support to our customers while leading a team of engineers.
* Manage a team to deliver projects on schedule and quality.
* Be a leader for the team and the interface between APD Global and our customers.
* Be the subject matter expert in distribution connection and network design in accordance with Western Power and/or Horizon Power utility standards and understanding of their processes.
* Provide exceptional quality control support for the department, ensuring quality in our designs and delivery to clients in a timely manner.
* Provide guidance and training for engineers to develop their knowledge and skills in completing compliant constructable designs.
* Manage client interactions while maintaining mutually beneficial professional relationships.
Demonstrated Excellence
* Ensuring quality standards through industry-accepted quality assurance methods.
* Demonstrated excellence in overhead power line and underground network design and modeling and utility standards.
* Demonstrated excellence in design of renewable energy systems.
* Demonstrated experience in contract and stakeholder management.
* Experience in AutoCAD, and MicroStation drafting.
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for re-imagining engineering and actively pursues continuous learning to shape the future. Key requirements include:
* At least 8 years of continual experience with electricity distribution networks, particularly with Western Power and/or Horizon Power.
* A minimum of a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience in project delivery including preparing designs, material lists, estimating connection costs, and securing customer approvals.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
* A project management and excellence in service delivery mindset.
* A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
* Australian Resident.
