About The Role
Are you an experienced logistics professional who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on role with the ability to work autonomously whilst having the support of a larger Logistics team? We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Logistics Storeperson to join our team to support the StarFlight operation that provides Aeromedical, SAR and Aviation Law Enforcement services to the people and state of Tasmania.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, with some weekend and on-call work may be required from time to time to meet operational requirements.
You'll play a vital role in keeping our aviation operations running smoothly by managing StarFlight's Engineering Logistics, Hazardous Goods, and Quarantine Store. This includes procuring parts and materials, inventory control, and fulfilling administrative needs.
Key Duties
Inventory Management: oversee the inventory within the logistics store, track receipts and issues of parts and materials, maintain stock levels, and minimize waste while optimizing storage space.
Store Upkeep: maintain the store, ensure proper storage of parts and materials, and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Data Management: use the Inventory System to log purchases, issues, and transfers with attention to data integrity and traceability.
Compliance: adhere to Stores Procedures and maintain an understanding of logistics protocols and compliance requirements.
About You / Qualifications
You'll bring previous experience in a logistics role, ideally within aviation or with a strong background in procurement, inventory control, and material handling. To be successful, you'll need the following skills and attributes:
Solid knowledge of incoming goods procedures, including purchase orders and receipting
Experience in accurate picking and packing within tight timeframes
Proven ability to manage stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy
Customer-focused procurement approach
Experience managing international and domestic freight, including documentation
Confidence working with Hazardous Goods and safe storage, packaging, and dispatch protocols
Ability to conduct effective stocktakes and knowledge of stock rotation and shelf-life
Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
A mindset for continuous improvement and a sharp eye for better ways to work
A can-do attitude, working safely within legislative and procedural guidelines
Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships
Current Forklift Licence is essential
Aviation Australia AA-43 Goods Receipt and Dispatch Course is highly desirable
