About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance operations at our Somersby Manufacturing Facility, home to our MDF and particleboard lamination production lines and various value add operations that range from simple Beam Saws to LPM Presses, CNC Routers, Automatic Storage & transport Systems using robotics.
This hands-on leadership role is critical in ensuring that plant maintenance, servicing, and repairs are delivered efficiently, effectively, and safely to minimise downtime and support optimal production performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee all maintenance activities across plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure.
* Develop and implement planned maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and production delays.
* Lead, coach, and support a team of 35 maintenance tradesmen, technicians and apprentices.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
* Manage our spare parts inventory, and procurement of maintenance services from our contractors.
* Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and management teams to align maintenance priorities with operational goals.
About You
* Trade or engineering qualification in mechanical, electrical, or related discipline.
* Extensive experience managing maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
* Strong understanding of plant reliability, automation systems, and preventative maintenance planning.
* Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development and workplace safety.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and planning abilities.
