**Role Purpose**
The Chief Security Officer (Australia) will report into the Global Chief Security Officer (UK) and be responsible for the maintenance of all relevant accreditations for networks of varying degrees of classification. He/She will lead on all liaison with our accreditors and provide security advice and guidance to the Australian business. Responsible for providing information security guidance and ensuring that BAE Digital Intelligence CLASSIFIED networks retain their accreditation. The role supports the overall security effort within APAC including physical and personal security aspects.
An Australian Government NV1 security clearance or greater is required.
**Core Duties / Key Accountabilities**
- Ensure the ICT accreditation documentation required under the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) for CLASSIFIED networks is maintained and current
- Ensure when the ISM is updated, CLASSIFIED networks are reviewed and corrective actions are proposed to ensure continuing compliance with the ISM.
- Ensure under guidance the completion of compliance activities for all networks, including compliance audits, reviews and tracking and reporting remediation activities associated with internal, and external ICT security compliance regimes.
- Manage DISP membership and general security requirements.
- Supervise the management of the Site Security Controller, incorporating Physical and Personnel security elements within an overarching security program.
- Provide general information security support across the business.
- Responsible for elements of staff training and cyber security related presentations.
- Assist with investigating information security incidents.
**Functional Knowledge**
- Demonstrated experience in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) security field with a particular focus on CLASSIFIED computing environments for Australian Government and Defence related ICT systems;
- An understanding of the Information Security Manual (ISM), the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF); and
- Knowledge of Australian Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements and general good security practices.
**Character & attitude**
- Mentor and support the remainder of the security team and be willing to cover their duties during periods of leave and abscence.
- Be able to incorporate all elements of security (personnel, physical, cyber) within an effective, holistic security plan.
- Be able to explain complex security risks to non-security stakeholders of all grades and seniority.
