About The Role
We currently have numerous full‐time permanent opportunities for experienced electrical & instrumentation fitters to join our high performing teams at Yarwun Refinery or the Boyne Smelter.
You'll be part of a maintenance team, handling both planned maintenance and responding to breakdowns as they arise. Your main focus will be keeping fixed plant equipment running safely and reliably, focusing on instrumentation works. In addition, you will closely work with our mechanical team to diagnose and troubleshoot reactive work in a timely manner at our aluminium smelter or refinery environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Maintaining and replacing electrical equipment
* Executing planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance
* Troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing and servicing fixed plant electrical assets
* Working at heights activities
* Planned maintenance including PLC, instrumentation, motor drives and other plant equipment, including autonomous forklift equipment
* Working effectively both within a team and independently
* Promoting opportunities to improve safety and performance, including working at heights
What You'll Bring
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* Valid A Class driver's licence
* An Australian 'A' grade electrical licence
* Instrumentation certificate
* PLC & SCADA experience desirable
* Experience with motors & VSDs, working on conveyors, crushers, and ship loaders

Where you'll be working
Boyne Smelters
Boyne Smelters Limited is Australia's second largest aluminium smelter, located approximately 20 km southeast of Gladstone. It produces around 500 000 tonnes of aluminium per annum.
Yarwun Refinery
Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10 km northwest of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004, producing more than three million tonnes of smelter‐grade alumina annually.
