We are looking for a Full-Time Yard Hand/Pick and Packer to join our Trade team at our Glenorchy and Kingston Trade stores with an immediate start and available Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday. If you have a passion for customer service, effective communication skills, knowledge of trade and building products, a positive attitude and are willing to learn new things, then we would love to hear from you. This is an opportunity for a Full-Time individual who must have a current forklift licence.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service & advice to customers.
* Keep areas organised, pigeonholes full & areas tidy.
* Accurately pick and pack timber and building products for customer orders.
* Collaborate with team members to maintain a streamlined warehouse.
* Ensure all duties are carried out to a high safety standard.
* Safely load building materials onto customer or delivery trucks using manual handling or equipment like forklifts.
* Verify that the correct items and quantities are being loaded based on invoices or pick slips.
* Secure loads properly to prevent damage during transport.
* Inspect materials for damage or defects before loading.
Qualifications
* Medium Rigid (MR) Licence is desirable.
* Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking and packing.
* Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Prior experience in a warehouse, blue collar retail or construction-related role is a bonus.
* Excellent attitude to teamwork.
* Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
