Southern Vales Legal is a small but busy law firm with offices in McLaren Vale and Victor Harbor. We work across a broad range of practice areas including family law, estate planning, deceased estates, civil law, commercial law and business law, civil law and conveyancing.

About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Secretary to support our solicitors and legal operations across both offices.

While the role is primarily secretarial, it also includes reception responsibilities, with reception duties mainly performed in our Victor Harbor office.

You will contribute to the smooth running of our practice and the delivery of high-quality service to our clients.

What You'll be Doing

* Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our solicitors
* Assist with the preparation of legal documents, correspondence and other materials
* Coordinate client files, including document preparation, filing and follow-ups
* Manage and maintain electronic and physical filing systems
* Coordinate client appointments and manage solicitors' schedules
* Liaise with clients, external parties and stakeholders as required
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance office efficiency

About You (What We're Looking For)

* Previous legal or administrative experience is advantageous but not essential
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and general computer literacy
* Ability to multitask, prioritise and work well under pressure
* Keen attention to detail and accuracy
* Highly organised with strong time-management skills
* Reliable, proactive and adaptable

Hours and Salary

* Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
* Full-time or part-time applicants will be considered with days/hours by agreement
* Salary will be commensurate with age and experience
* A three-month probation period will apply
