Located at 11 Torrens St in beautiful Victor Harbor, Victor Medical Centre (VMC) is a bustling GP-led medical practice. We are seeking a Finance 2IC to support our Finance Manager and our practice.

Title: 2IC to Finance Manager
Reporting to: Finance Manager (primary); General Manager (secondary)
Classification: Permanent Part-Time, 3 days per week with some flexibility on days and times depending on the candidate.
Overview
The 2IC to the Finance Manager is responsible to the Finance Manager (FM) and ultimately to the General Manager (GM) and assists in providing financial control and reporting to the Victor Medical Centre (VMC).
The 2IC to the Finance Manager will, under the direction of the Finance Manager:
· Assist with accurate and timely internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactions.
· Assist in preparation of Australian Tax Office BAS Returns, PAYG Reconciliation, Payroll Tax, Return to Work and Superannuation legislation.
· Adhere to National Privacy Principles in all record keeping.
· Support internal HR and payroll processing functions.
Financial Processing
The 2IC to the Finance Manager, in conjunction with the Finance Manger will be accountable for:
· Processing and payment of creditors, obtain payment authorities where directed by levels of authority.
· Preparation of invoices of all debtors e.g. property tenants, grant providers and receive and record payments.
· Reviewing Debtors on a regular basis and working with Drs in regards to collection / write offs.
· Reconciliations of all bank accounts, clearing accounts, liabilities, loans and credit cards.
· Preparation of transactions in loans between entities including service fee calculations.
· Preparation of BAS and preparation of annual financial statements working with accountants
· Preparation of Monthly Management reports for Partners including budgeting and other reports requested by the Partners and the Executive Committee
· Preparation of Payroll and payment processing fortnightly.
· Ensure staff paypoints under the Enterprise Agreement are tracked and updated as required.
· Preparation of Independent Associate fortnightly payments and monthly service fee invoices
· Preparation Statutory compliant payroll forms and payslips.
· Preparation insurance claims including Workers Compensation.
· Preparation payroll records and leave entitlements
· Preparation returns for Single Touch Payroll, Payroll Tax, Return to Work, PAYG and Superannuation.
· Preparation of WIP Nursing hours data for submission to Services Australia.
· Where necessary, ensure Practice Incentive Payment data is correct for Services Australia.
· Liaise with SA Health and provide necessary information for Obstetric Roster payments
· Provide financial data in relation to the Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) for all stakeholders including Partners and Country SA PHN.
· Provide regular payment details to Partners including slot count updates
· Process Partner Payments for:
· Dividend allocations
· Partner Loans (repayments and disbursements)
· After Hours and Private Health Income allocations
· Obstetrics Payments allocations
· Partner Payouts and Buy Ins
· Anaesthetic Payments allocations
· PIP (Practice Incentive Payment) allocations
· Executive Committee Payments
· Extra Slots worked (including ensuring slots are accurately recorded for each Partner)
· Out of hours UCC Shifts
Skills
The 2IC to the Finance Manager must demonstrate the following skills
· Proven Experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping
· Minimum of 3-4 years accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred
· Excel, Word and computer accounting program skills
· Experience with Xero accounting software is preferred
· Analytical and problem solving skills
· Decision making skills
· Effective written, verbal and listening communications skills
· Time management skills
· Certificate IV qualification or higher is preferred
