The Position
We are seeking an experienced and driven Property Accountant to take ownership of the financial performance of a diverse portfolio of retail and mixed-use assets. You'll be embedded in every stage of the investment lifecycle, from budgeting and forecasting to audit, rent roll management, and tax compliance.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for properties
* Own the service charge accounting process: budgeting, reconciliations, and reporting
* Reconcile rent rolls and manage rental income, turnover rent, and lease adjustments
* Conduct variance analysis and present insights at meetings
* Support annual budgeting, forecasting, audits, and BAS lodgements
* Manage tenant account queries and arrears
* Liaise with Asset Managers, Property Managers, and external stakeholders
* Maintain and improve financial systems
The Criteria
This role requires someone who can plan, achieve high workloads, meet deadlines, develop and implement systems.
* Proven experience within property/real estate accounting
* Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent
* CA/CPA qualified
* Strong understanding of commercial lease structures and service charge accounting
* Excel proficiency
