Solicitor in Charge - Grade VI
Ongoing Full-Time role (35 hours per week)
Legal Officer Grade VI ($161,034 - $164,426) plus super & annual leave loading
Location: Moree
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Solicitor in Charge to establish and oversee the daily operations of our new Moree Office.
Your key responsibilities will include managing and guiding the team to deliver high-quality legal services, meeting client needs with efficiency and effectiveness, and working with our legal assistance partners in the region to improve access to justice.
You will also supervise and mentor both legal and non-legal staff, fostering their growth and ensuring they contribute to our shared goals. Optimal use of resources and the delivery of bespoke services that truly make a difference for our clients and the community will be ensured.
About You:
You must be a highly experienced civil, family, or criminal lawyer, committed to delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate legal services to legally aided clients.
Ambition and leadership skills are essential, as you will have experience managing teams of legal and non-legal staff.
You are a compassionate, principled leader who leads by example, promoting cultural safety practices in the office for both staff and clients.
The Essential Requirements:
* Admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
* Current NSW Practising Certificate required
* Will to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check
* Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency, or valid visa to work in Australia
* Valid NSW Drivers Licence
