About The Henley
The Henley on Broadwater is a private, owner-occupied care community on the Gold Coast's Southport waterfront. We are not a corporate aged care chain. We are 100 apartments, a proper restaurant, resort-grade amenities, and a team that genuinely knows every resident by name.
Our residents chose The Henley because they expect more and we are committed to delivering it, every single day. That standard applies to clinical care, to the bistro, to the view from their terrace, and to the quality of their days.
The role
This is a newly created position. You will lead the personalised wellbeing programme for all residents in our private aged care community on Levels 3 and 4, working a minimum 26 hours across five days.
You will know every resident as an individual. You will design their programme around their life story, their daily rhythms, and what still lights them up, not around a generic activity calendar. You will also provide day-to-day direction to a small team of Personal Care Workers who support programme delivery, and collaborate with our Lifestyle Coordinator to ensure our HPAC residents are included and considered across the whole community.
This role reports to our Care Business Manager and carries real responsibility: individual wellbeing plans for every resident, early observation and proactive engagement, meaningful family communication, and genuine contribution to how The Henley continues to raise the standard in private aged care.
What you will be doing
• Developing and delivering individual wellbeing plans for each resident, built around who they are, not just what they need
• Designing daily one-to-one and small group programmes that are time-of-day aware, strengths-based, and genuinely meaningful
• Observing residents early and responding proactively when something is changing, before it escalates
• Providing clear day-to-day direction to up to three PCWs supporting your programme
• Partnering with the Lifestyle team to build inclusive whole-of-community programming
• Building warm, specific relationships with families and keeping them genuinely informed
• Contributing to care planning conversations with your wellbeing and engagement perspective
What we are looking for
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Personal Care Worker qualification — essential
• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, or a related allied health or wellbeing qualification
• Genuine experience working with older people in residential aged care, with an understanding of what private aged care residents expect
• The ability to design and deliver a programme that feels personalised, not templated
• Experience or training in specialised wellbeing approaches for residents with cognitive change — highly regarded
• Comfort giving direction to others and following through on standards
• Current National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to obtain)
Who you are
You notice things. You remember what a resident told you last Tuesday and you build on it on Thursday. You bring calm and warmth into a room. You give PCWs clear guidance without needing to micromanage. You talk to families the way you would want someone to talk to yours.
You are probably working in aged care right now and you know you are capable of more than your current setting is asking of you. Or you are the best person in your team and you are ready for a role that matches your standards.
What we offer
• A newly created role with genuine scope to shape how it works
• A private, boutique community — not a corporate provider
• A leadership team that is invested in this role succeeding
• Beautiful working environment on the Southport Broadwater
• A culture built on four values: Generosity, Compassion, Commitment, and Belonging
• 26 hours per week with a roster that includes morning-weighted shifts
How to apply
Submit your resume and a brief cover letter — no more than one page — telling us about a resident whose life you made measurably better, and how.
We read every application. We will be in touch.
