Fantastic opportunity for experienced Mechanical Project Manager with heavy industrial manufacturing experience to join a leading global manufacturing company on a long-term contract basis.
Role Details
We are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager that has experience with process line equipment upgrades including mechanical, structural, electrical and automation equipment. Confident working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
* Leading and Project Managing some major upgrade projects at a leading manufacturing site.
* Development and review of mechanical designs.
* Preparation of work scopes and tender documents.
* Procurement of Equipment and contract management
* Control of engineering package budget and schedule
* Implementation, review and sign off of QA activities associated with the purchase and install of equipment
* Development and management of safety management plan specific to projects.
* Involvement in Hazard and Risk analysis activities
* Undertake in conjunction with specialists / contractor's design and constructability reviews
* Development of installation plans and associated execution documentation.
* Define work permit requirements for site works activities
* Management of onsite contractors
* Supervision of mechanical installation works.
* Commissioning of equipment and process systems.
* Overseeing contractors for civil work and infrastructure on site
Qualifications
* Mechanical engineering background with an associated degree in engineering
* Site experience (safety systems, safe system of work documentation, contractor supervision, project close out etc).
* Minimum of 7+ years in a relevant position.
* Strong brownfield project experience
* Project management skills
* Good communication and organisation skills to interface with a multi-disciplined team and stakeholders at the design stage and contractors at the installation phase.
* Skills and experience to develop engineering scope of works around tasks briefs (developing options to address the task brief, documenting the options as per site and company standards)
* Design management skills with a proven systematic approach to ensure the design output meets the stakeholder requirement
* Experience with Project feasibility investigations, directing others on best engineering solutions.
* Experience with using AutoCAD and 3D modelling programs will be advantageous
* Experience in the following design applications will be advantageous:
* Safeguarding of equipment and compliance to AS4024
* Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
* Structural and lifting equipment
* Strip transport and conveyors
* Furnace and Ovens
* Utilities and metering requirements
* Automation Systems – Mechanical Design
* Crane and Lifting Equipment
