An exciting opportunity exists with our community engagement and awareness team in a role that has a focus on working closely with our local community. In this rewarding role in our headspace programs, you will have the opportunity to build engagement and awareness about mental health and wellbeing of Young People in our local community. From delivering workshops within community, leading community events and working with like-minded key stakeholders your work will be diverse and impactful.

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to step into a role which has a focus on early intervention and awareness. Here's how it will help transform your career:

* Gain valuable experience in leading and supporting Young People to have a voice in service design, professional development and advocacy

* Supporting the design and implementation of the community engagement plan which is driven by identified community need and responsive to the ideas and input of young people and community

* Broaden your skill set through diverse and meaningful work

This is a Part-Time Fixed-Term position till 30 June 2026 based at headspace Ballina.

We are looking for a passionate community engagement professional with a desire to make a difference. The successful candidate will have:

* Experience in community or youth engagement and/ or relevant qualifications, health promotion, public health or community engagement and/or capacity building activities

* Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral) with the ability to engage and communicate sensitively and effectively with funding bodies, communities, community groups, stakeholders and individuals. You will have the ability to facilitate presentations, workshops and groups.

* Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement strategies within allocated budgets.

* Demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of young people from a range of social and cultural backgrounds and with diverse gender and sexual identities
