We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our team at the InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef.

About the Role

The Junior Sous Chef will be responsible for providing leadership and support to the kitchen team, working in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Culinary leadership team to ensure planning and direction of food service is produced to the highest quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

* Manage daily kitchen operations, setting team performance goals and providing mentorship to improve staff performance and resolve conflicts.
">
* Train team members on compliance with brand standards and regulations.
">
* Promote teamwork through collaboration with other departments and support events.
">
* Maintain food safety and storage protocols, ensuring equipment functionality and adhering to health regulations.
">
* Promote workplace health and safety initiatives.

Requirements
">
Candidates should have completed a minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant equivalent, along with over two years of chef experience or an equivalent combination of education and culinary experience.
">
Experience working in a fast-paced environment preparing and cooking high-quality dishes is essential. Current food safety certification and fluency in English are also required.
">
Appropriate Australian working rights are necessary for this role.
