Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Procurement Professional to join our Australia Sector Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing allocated indirect spend categories and contributing to key programs related to this strategically important sector.
This role can be based out of Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide or Brisbane, and involves working closely with diverse stakeholders across multiple business units to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements and supplier performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and category management, with experience in managing indirect categories and contributing to business or project procurement activities.
* Develop and implement effective category strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance
* Assist stakeholders in supply chain and procurement activities, including cost optimisation, purchasing, forecasting and risk management
* Contribute knowledge of supplier markets to improve competitive advantage and service outcomes
The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting the development and execution of category strategies, collaborating with other departments to identify, qualify and manage suppliers, and implementing a supply chain that supports business strategies and adapts to market changes.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A degree in a business or engineering discipline or equivalent experience
* Experience in procurement, category management or supply chain, ideally with indirect categories
* Demonstrated experience contributing to business or project procurement activities
* Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain management, procurement and supplier engagement practices
