About the role:
We have an opportunity for a part time Specialist Practice Nurse to join our Team. This position will work between both of our clinics, located at Gold Coast Private Hospital and at our Ferry Road clinic. Both clinics are located in Southport, with the team working a rotational roster, Monday to Friday (between 7.00am to 7.00pm). The role would see you working an 8 hour shift, 3 days each week, or 6 days per fortnight.
On any given day you will find yourself:
Treatment Rooms:
* Assisting our specialist Doctors and GPs in treatment rooms by preparing for required procedures and chaperoning where necessary.
* Manage specimen preparation, handling and storage.
* Sterilising of instruments and equipment used in treatment rooms.
* Management of in-clinic wound reviews.
Quality and Compliance:
* Work with the nursing team to ensure all regular audits are conducted along with the required reports and complete clinical audits within allocated timeframes.
* Be accountable for the management of patients’ confidential medical records.
* Adhere to clinical guidelines regarding patient identification.
* Have a working understanding of the National Immunisation Program.
Communication:
* Respond to verbal and written medical requests from the Specialist’s, GP’s and allied health practitioners with a professional and timely manner.
* Support our Fertility patients along their patient journey from including patient history calls and other relevant and timely communication.
* Triage, manage and respond to patients’ medical enquiries and communication within the nursing scope of practice, involving and updating Specialist’s and GP’s where necessary.
* Patient support regarding specialised oncology care via phone, email or face to face consultations.
Teamwork:
With a vast and varied team at Grace, teamwork is essential to patient care and positive outcomes. The successful candidate must:
* Collaborate in a professional and efficient manner with all team members.
* Demonstrate the ability to work both autonomously as well as part of the broader Grace team.
* When required, support the Grace Private Administration team with front desk support within scope of competence.
Qualifications and Medical Competencies:
* Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA Registered), or
* Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA Registered)
* Current holder of CPR certification, and ability to maintain certification
* Knowledge of gynecology, fertility and specialised general practice conditions and procedures
