Job Summary
The Senior Advisor AEH is responsible for integrating environmental requirements of the Environmental Management System into project-level documentation, ensuring that all permit applications, design specifications, construction plans, and contracts comply with statutory obligations. The role provides technical leadership for legislative approvals and reporting under the Airport Act 1996, EPBC Act 1999, and Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, supporting the efficient and compliant delivery of the Master Plan.
Major Responsibilities
* Model and promote commitment to our Values, Safety, and customer service excellence through our people practices.
* Integrate environmental and heritage requirements into project-level documentation including permit applications, design specifications, risk assessments, construction plans, schedules, bid specifications, and contract packages.
* Provide leadership for all legislative approvals and reporting obligations for assigned area/program required to ensure efficient and compliant implementation of the Airport Master Plan.
* Work with the customer Environmental & Heritage team and other functional leads (engineering, construction, startup, contracts, procurement, project controls, document control) to obtain documentation needed for permit applications and regulatory and contract submittals in order to deliver approvals in line with the Airports Act 1996 (and associated Regulations), Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) and the Aboriginal Heritage Act (WA) 1972 processes.
* Support construction and leadership in assigned area/program in line with the PAPL Environment and Heritage Management System and the Airport Master Plan.
* Other responsibilities as reasonably directed by leadership team.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) related to environmental sciences, field biology, or natural resources and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Advanced knowledge of development and implementation of environmental management systems and Cultural heritage procedures in the construction industry.
* Demonstrated experience in compliance management within active construction or heavily regulated projects.
* Demonstrated experience in national and WA regulations and regulatory/resource agencies' permitting processes and reporting.
* Demonstrated experience of providing strategic and technical advice to senior leadership teams.
