Job Role Overview
Providing individualized support to vulnerable children and young people is the core responsibility of this role.
Individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, abuse or neglect require specialized care. This job requires a resilient and committed professional to help young people build essential life skills and strengths within a therapeutic model of care.
The primary goal of this position is to offer direct person-centered support and care to young people residing in out-of-home care (OOHC) settings. Ensuring their unique needs are met through proactive intervention and ongoing support is key.
* Assisting young people in developing independent living skills
* Empowering young people to achieve their personal objectives
* Encouraging young people to engage with their local communities through educational institutions and community groups
* Daily care and support, including assistance with household tasks
* Transporting young people to and from scheduled appointments
* Supporting connections to family and cultural heritage
* Collaborating with other professionals, such as Behaviour Support Practitioners, to deliver comprehensive care.
