NTHA is a nationally registered Group Training Organisation that employs and supports apprentices and trainees by placing them with trusted host employers for quality, paid hands-on training and experience.

ABOUT THE HOST EMPLOYER

Our host employer is a highly respected manufacturing company with over 20 years of industry experience, specialising in precision cut-to-size and flat-pack solutions for cabinetmakers and manufacturers across Sydney.

Led by dedicated, hands-on owners and a skilled team of qualified cabinetmakers, they are known for delivering high-quality, custom-built products with exceptional accuracy and craftsmanship.

Their modern workshop is fitted with the latest machinery, specialised software, and advanced technology — ensuring every board is cut, edged, and drilled with chip-free precision. With all manufacturing completed in-house, they maintain full control over quality and lead times, producing efficient, high-end, easy-to-assemble products.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity to begin a 4-year Wood Machining Apprenticeship (Certificate III in Wood Machining – FWP31120) with on-the-job training and full-time paid work.

You'll learn to operate advanced timber and board-processing machinery, assist in manufacturing precision-cut components, and gain strong technical skills essential to the cabinetmaking and production industry.

If you enjoy hands-on work, problem solving, and working with high-tech machinery — this apprenticeship is for you.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operating and maintaining CNC and wood machining equipment
* Cutting, edging, drilling, and processing boards to exact specifications
* Following digital plans, software outputs, and technical drawings
* Inspecting products for quality and accuracy
* Assisting with custom and flat-pack production
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop
* Following WHS procedures and safe work practices
* Completing Certificate III coursework (with full NTHA support)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* Full working and study rights in Australia (no visa restrictions)

* Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
* Commitment to workplace safety
* Good teamwork and communication skills

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm
